Proper Nutrition and Lowered Health Care Costs Go Hand in Hand

Sporadic nuts, berries, certain vegetables, and animal fat and protein is what our genetic makeup has evolved from. We have evolved and thrived on this type of food. Their diets were very healthy and provided them a lot of energy to be predators, but often died while being prey. The fact remains that after many bone analyses have been done on the Paleolithic man, modern diseases were just not found.

The Modern Era

Fast forward to today, and we see many diseases that come from eating foods that do not mesh with our genetic makeup. Grains never were a part of the hunter gatherer diet. Potatoes, beans and peanuts were also never part of this diet. Agriculture has introduced us to these foods, and are a staple in the modern diet. Because of these new foods, modern man has suffered from many illnesses and diseases.

Medical Care

The costs of health care today have soared far beyond what any reasonable person can pay without the help of a few payday loans. Even with them, it is too expensive. A more dishonest event is happening behind the scenes beyond the costs. The more appropriate name for health care should be Sick Care. In what is called the “Paleo Diet”, the creators have outlined the foods our ancestors used to eat. The basic food groups remain the same, though many controversies exist about the particulars of the diet. Produce that does not need to be cooked to be safe to eat is okay. By following this thought, most vegetables, fruits and berries are included. Eating grains, roots, tubers and beans are not healthy for you, as they must be cooked a long time to take out the toxic elements. Cooked animal flesh is the way many people prefer it today, even though our ancestors ate it raw. Many people buy into the myth that saturated fat is bad, but it is actually very healthy.
